A New Take On Pacquiao-Marquez Fight 3

I've always loved boxing... Always.

Some say it was the most epic battle we've seen. Bloodied, bruised, dizzy and confused, these two proud boxers slugged it out in the MGM Grand Hotel. I think all stories and all sides have been told... Look at my perspective...

"Pare pangit ng kilikili mo! Pa wax ka, ako bahala."
Bro, your underarm hair is F-U-G-L-Y! Get it waxed, I'll pay

"Pa-kiss nga tol..."
Can I have a kiss?
"Tignan mo nga kung may dumi yung kamay ko...."
Is this fist dirty?

"Your fists are dirty!!! Eiiiiiwwwww!"
Your fists are dirty!!! Ewwwww!

"May lamok pare..."
I think I saw a fly in your cheek bro!

"Step1, lean forward, Step2 lean back (steps ng cha-cha-cha)"

"Waaaaaaaaaa, natalo ako!!!!! Mommy!!!!!"

Talo ako... Huhuhu
Kidding aside, kudos to these two fighters... They made the fight
1. Worth watching on tv
2. Worth paying for live in MGM
3. Spectacular.
CONGRATULATIONS!
Pero syempre,
dahil PINOY
BUTI NGA
NANALO ULIT KAMI

TEMPTATIONS

Today, I was tempted to eat more than my share of chocolates
Which were kept in a small pitcher by the fridge
I took a good swig of the chocolettes that beckoned me
And tasted it's sweet uncanny sour/sweet candy

After a couple of swigs I fell
An abyss swallowed me from the depths of the floor
I felt my heart flutter, my stomach cramp
My eyes shuttered, my mind sank

I was drowning in a pool of happiness
Chemical induced chocolate melancholy
I smiled and giggled and laughed
And ate another piece of that heavenly crap

Chocolates make you go insane
In a millisecond, if you bother to weigh
These are temptations in my brain
Filling me with oozing terrain

Woosh

Iba talaga pag Pinay ka
Lahat ng tanawin maganda
basta ito'y di karaniwan
Palagi kang naka ngiti
Kahit nasa gitna ng init ng daan
Nakikipag kwentuhan sa kalsada
Kahit ikaw ay may lakad pa
Kapag nakita sina Lolo at Lola
Nagmamano, at minsan bumebeso pa
Ang mga bata ay mahalaga
Kahit sila ay nakalimot na
Mapusok ang damdamin
Madali ring maawa
Pinay lang ang masipag sa buhay
Kahit ito'y nagsawa na
Ang mga Pinay talaga
Ginawa ng DIyos
Upang maiba.

i just wanted a breather... from all the clutter and nonsense in this world, that sometimes, we too have to pause... and smell the rain.

Thank God for the Rain!

Oh! Love!

I know, I know, it's really really late to be talking about love, because it's March. But ITS MY G^%@!M Blog. So.... hehehe

I have been stuck, with a fever for the past 3 days, after shuffling to and fro my different destinations. So I got to watching DVDs from my sister's collection. First I got through scary ones (Silence of the Lambs-Classic-, The Grudge) and then went through the Love Stories. And this is the ones I've got to tell you.

While You Were Sleeping

c (1995)

Sandra Bullock; Bill Pullman

I really liked it, considering it makes us believe in 2 important aspects of love. 1.) Nothing can be totally developed into something and 2.) Family is the deciding factor in a relationship.

I totally believe these two. Nothing was totally developed into something for us two. He was a long time close friend, and we have always had this unspeakable bond between us. Beyond friendship, but not to the point of courtship. It's like my ex-boyfriend used to say... when he's around, I'd just hear his voice and I'd wake up from my deepest sleep just to say Hi to him...We'd text each other while we were with drinking buddies. Nothing provocative or anything, just how are you's and are you okay's. We'd out talk all our friends and stay up til early morning talking about anything and everything... That was our life from out of nothing. We would not see each other for MONTHS and then when we did, it's like it was just yeasterday...

Family, yes, the deciding factor in a relationship. A simple exercise. Think of everyone in his family, think of one word to describe them, an honest word, that first pops into your head...and you'd know what kind of a family you think he has and if you need to learn about them a little bit more. If wods like shallow, cute, insecure or something like that comes out of your monuth, you should definitely learn about them a lot more. Because you are going to be a part of that family. And if you are, then you really need to get them to know a lot more better if the only words taht come out of your mouth are that shallow...

You've Got Mail

c (1998)

Meg Ryan, Tom Hanks

Really nice, romantic movie with a few nostalgic things or two. Like their e-mail, although it was America On-Line, was connected through (gasp) a Dial up Modem-Phone. hehehe. And Tom Hanks also has a Golden Retriever by the name of Brinkley. Like me. But her name is Ginger. (thanks ate!)

I have to tell you about this one cause it thought me the value of TRUST and FORGIVENESS. Trust because Meg's character seems to lead a great life including a great boyfirend everybody keeps hitting on. But she learned to trust and open up to a stranger in the internet and share her life's dreams and passions and mis adventures. That is Blind Trust. DOnt get me wrong, I'm NOT at all for chatroom and anything, it's the kind of trust that I'm describing to you, that makes it endearing, for me. It's complete trust. On my part, 100% I know I can tell him about anything and everything and still he won't look at me any different. One time we had a very heated arguement, the only time in fact, that he was so angry he slammed me to the door, and I got bruises, and I slapped him, which got his left ear ringing for the remainder of the week. Anyway, it wasn't intentional violence or anything, he was trying to calm me down and I wouldn't, and I tried to walk out, and he wouldn't let me. So that's that. Anyway, the next day (actually after 2 days, because I refuse to see him) we talked and patched things up.. I remembered that I said some pretty horrible things to him that fateful night, so horrible that if you knew, I'd have to kill you, but what made me see that he trusted me is the fact that he needed no explaination for me whatsoever, and that he knew I never meant to hurt him, just as much as I knew deep down in my heart (although I tried to deny it) that night, he was not himself and he would never hurt me under a different circumstance... That is trust to me, BLIND TRUSt. You see, you trust somebody with something so ordinary, like strangers making coffee for you, to something so sacred, like you heart, and you should be able to see without opening your eyes that someone will catch you if you fall.

Forgiveness, comes into play when you do something so crazy, like rocking the very foundations of someone's soul, and receiving some kind of okay from that person. That is forgiveness. Thank God we haven't had BIG BIG arguements or shouting matches or infidelity or shaking of one's soul, but I know, that I can forgive him, and forget about it (not the lesson that THAT mistake taught us, but the act itself) because I love him. Simple as that.

License to Wed

c (?)

John Krasinski, Mandy Moore

Now this is a film that got bad reviews, but personally, I think it's kindda funny. And true. There was a lot of truth into what virtues they preached. Things I got alot about this movie, is the title in itself. A license to marry doesnt get any simplier by going to your CIty Hall, looking for an open date, and saying I do infront of a local public official with authority. But, a real license, in a sense that you need quizzes and questions and answers before you get hitched, now that is what I'm talking about.

I have had, officially, 6 wedding proposals to this date. The first one was a very sincere one, from my first boyfriend. It didn't work out. The second 1 was from my second boyfriend, which I was totally considering because I really did feel something deep for him, but obviously, if you fooled around with my only female friend and got her pregnant, there's no chance in hell that it's happening soon. The third one was from a very, very loved friend of mine, to which of course, I decided not to pursue. The fourth one was from a very respected and loved ex-boyfriend, with whom I agreed. But after much consideration and coercion, we decided we were not meant to be after all. The 5th one was from a very significant person in my life, who, by the way joked that "will you marry me"phrase with a "i would definitely marry you, if I hadn't given my word to her" kindda phrase, which broke my heart, by the way. Because he was my one true first love. And the 6th and (LAST) final time is from my current beau, whom I call my husband (check my friendster) to which after 2 years of saving up; we'll make true, is the current proposal I have pending. (I said yes, but after I fulfill my family duties and personaly duty (isa lang ang personal duty ko, maging arkitekto na)). Anyway, watch the movie, because the things we learn from love is not confined to books, to churches, to lectures and speakers and to romance and dreams, it bursts forth from experiences and from believing in each other's goodness inside. ..

So my final take on love? I shit you not, but try to write down 15 possible things you like about your present lover, and if you finished it it 5 minutes or less, you're on the right track. Love never needs explainations, just heart.

15 things I love about You

(time 2:35am)

  1. You carry me on your back when there's mud all over the place, even if it means getting your feet dirty.
  2. You hold my hands under ANY circumstance.
  3. You say I love you so often, yet so hearfelt.
  4. You text me kahit tamad akong magreply minsan.
  5. You let me talk and talk and talk, and you listen.
  6. You talk and talk and talk, and I listen.
  7. You make me laugh.
  8. You get you hair chopped up or grow it long, even if you don't want to, just for me.
  9. You kiss me even if I have morning breath.
  10. You cook for me.
  11. You think my ate and kuya and my lola are cool.
  12. You love my pamangkins, esp. Matt.
  13. You do the dishes, wash the laundry, sweep the floor, even if I don't ask you too or if you see I'm too tired to do them.
  14. You accompany me to places you hate going to.
  15. You waited 2 years for me.

(time 2:39am)

(I;m not kidding!)

Ciao!

I just wanted to pay homage to the EDSA REVOLT ANNIVERSARY LAST WEEK.

I was 6 years old when it happened, but I remember. And will never forget!

NINOY-BAYANI NG MAKABAGONG PANAHON!

First-an into about REVOLUTION and what it is...

The portents of change can take many forms. However, change to society is often met with criticism and resistance. When such reforms are challenged, the disaffected society takes revolution as its harbinger of change.
Understanding the harbinger must include understanding the message. To understand the revolution, one must first understand the "ingredients" or circumstances surrounding the birth of a revolution.
Political revolutions usually occur when an outspoken leader provides a focal point in which the disaffected masses vent the grievances.
Revolutions also occur when tensions between opposing parties reach a boiling point. These intense emotions are unleashed through a catalyst, a major event that permits the outflow of emotion and actions towards the achievement of a certain cause. Incidents such as the assassination of political leaders, violence in protest rallies and terrorist acts are examples of such catalysts.
Whether successful or not, revolt always brings about decisive change in government, thus fulfilling the chief characteristic of the said revolution. However, if the change is not satisfactory, chances are events will repeat themselves and cycle towards a new revolution.
In conclusion, revolution comes as a tool for the masses. An ineffective governing body will assuredly come under intense scrutiny. If the will of the people is not followed, then a government, no matter how strong, will fall under its own corruption.

The road to rebellion....

21 August 1983, China Airlines, Radio Veritas, and the Filipino people at the Manila International Airport witnessed the reckoning of a dictatorial President (attempting to obscure an infirmity with his kidney) and an irrepressible critique and "rival". Yet on the genesis of a political demise, Marcos downplayed Senator Benigno Aquino’s return from Boston, Massachusetts (and from a heart condition). Nonchalantly disregarding insulting assaults on the once Martial Lawed Filipinos and on his labeled "can be Communist Catholic Church", Marcos did not heed US Ambassador Michael Armacost’s "advice". Nevertheless, the Ambassador’s proposal for the government to embrace Ninoy’s ideals and arrival almost destroyed his integrity as a true oppositionist.
Indeed, 1983 served as the clinching gun shot to put the President’s decree making powers to arrest enemies, supply patronage to friends, or legislate without public accountability into the ripples of unrest that would soon become ravenous waves.
The boom was heard throughout the live coverage of Veritas. The non-governmental radio station unleashed the Christian Passion Play of the then cold Ninoy Aquino. Inevitably, much questioned later the irony of having him so heavily guarded by some 1,199 military personnel. Marcos was shocked, so to speak, and denies ball handling. Thus, passes the ball to Communists and referees at the same time calling it a foul—a rubout job. The Filipino people then happened.
They just got tired watching all the bad plays. Jumping into the arena, people turn to the mourning widow Coraczon C. Aquino. This was manifested through a candlelit march to Sto. Domingo Church and motorcade with the casket to Aquino’s provincial capital of Tarlac. More than just a novelty, apparently, over two million people viewed the hearse 10 days later.
Meanwhile, very vigilant Veritas continued its broadcast about the aftermath of the Aquino murder. Marcos had no choice but to keep them on air else enraging "his" people. Ergo, this revived the pre-martial law tradition among Filipino Broadcasters. And every angle of mushrooming rallies and demonstrations was exhausted. The Filipino people always watched and listened. Hence, "Frightened Ferdie" fixed a Fact Finding Board to feed flustered Filipinos. October, and juvenile court Judge Corazon Agrava took the reins of investigation with four representatives from business, labor, law, and education (plus, Chief Counsel Andres Narvasa). In a blink, the board’s first session identify triggerman Rolando Galman (found lying in the morgue—for over 3 months) as assassin. Nonetheless, the marinated thorough report of the Aquino murder never became its anniversary special. This was so when the board split and the four "sectoral" representatives implicated Chief of Staff Fabian Ver for wide conspiracy (although there was unanimity that there was military connivance). Marcos then transferred the trials to the Sandiganbayan, which he created five years back to judge corruption cases among government officials. Noticeably, the record of convictions from this court was even a clearer manifestation of corruption at its finest.
People then thought of hope. They immersed themselves into the promises of the future after the May 1984 assembly elections. Partaking of this perspective, the Aquino family split because of differences in the envisioned future. Ninoy’s younger brother, Agapito "Butz" Aquino was found in the stronghold of the left that was tatooed with boycott. Ninoy’s mother, Doña Aurora found sanctuary in the shabby shade of opposition candidates. Jose Concepcion highlighted the elections with his reformed National Citizens Movement for Free Elections (NAMFREL). Consequently, in 1984, some 200,000 wakeful watchers and vigilant volunteers almost prevented cheating through its quickcount. On one hand, at least it was able to cause Marcos to call off "Operation: Switch Phony Tally Sheets." On the other, he resorted to provincial tallies to swing votes to his party’s favor causing a 2-1 victory over the total number of assembly sheets.
December 2nd, declaration was made that Galman killed Aquino on behalf of the Communists, as if Marcos prophetically envisioned that declaration a day after the murder. Nonetheless, everyone believed the declaration as a mere whitewash.
December 3rd, Corazon Aquino took the challenge of the upcoming February 7, 1986 presidential snap elections. These are the silent but small steps that set afoot on the road not taken that lead to the avenue of upheaval.
Marcos felt he won. He felt he has "drawn the opposition back into his rules of his political game—of accepting the National Assembly as more than a simple rubber stamp". However,, he let the Church and the vast middle class plant the seeds of uprising. Alongside, the state against the leftists ("for moral repulsion and violations of culturally acceptable behaviour") bolstered the latter for an elite militancy to stop Marcos. This in turn, stirred public awareness (especially in provinces) causing an increase in strikes and demonstrations in front of the Malacañang. Consequently, this led to shootings into crowds into crowds best featured that 20th of September, 1985 at Escalante of Northern Negros. 27 people died (as blockade of radicals) by automatic weapons then.
Meantime, further sparks of steady attraction of middle class liberals, intellectuals & businessmen joined with the Left’s anti-Marcos, anti-U.S. ferror. In effect most urban middle class with Former Senator Lorenzo Tañada with Joaquin "Chino" Roces, former publisher of Manila Times—who gave Ninoy his first assignment) stood at the foot of Mendiola like a sheriff’s post as testimony of protest.
As the economy plunged, the Philippines sank into the quicksand of IMF debits. To prove the government trustworthy of the people’s—now not so very—strict obedience, the International Monetary Fund pushed Marcos to a blind corner. Conditional loans were made with the IMF, which in turn made the government succumb to their demand for a snap election.

My thoughts....tommorow....

Chronicles of Going Abroad

Hell... What a mouthful that was!

I am currently drowning in muscle pain as I just came from Manila this ungodly hour. Why? I just signed my contract for the Landmark Group. Im going to be a part of their team now. It's in Dubai, U.A.E. Why am I telling you this? Because, I wanted to share with you another chronicle in my life, that is...

How to Look for a Job Abroad(1)

What do you need when you want a job Abroad(2)

How to Process Papers for Abroad(3)

Other questions I've asked myself before going into this venture(4)

I wanted to chronicle this because while I was the eternal "tambay" (couch potato freak) for the past couple of months (by choice, of course), I contemplated on what was to become of my life. Getting old really hits you fast! Anyway, that's another topic... so I wanted to start with...

How to Look for A Job Abroad

(all these and the subsequent tales are from my personal experience)

Build an Impressive Resume

-microsoft word has a great resume wizard, pwd mamili ng mga designs etc. diskartehan nyo na lang. just remember that EMPLOYERS GET A LOOOOT OF RESUMES, SO MAKE YOUR STAND OUT! (me, I did with a little color, gray and green, para hindi boring basahin at naka categorize rin yung mga data e.g. personal background, professional work experience, part-time work experience, etc.)

Know your chosen work and your work experiences.

I am a gradutae of BS Architecture. Last March 04. I started working full-time August of the same year till September 2007. Undergraduate job experiences I did venture into. So that gives me about 4 years work experience.

*Careful to count all your job experiences, be it part/full time.

*Always, always keep certificates of your seminars, as I've learned, they were quite important (to impress the right people)

*Do add every strength you know regarding your chosen field.

*Wag gawing "chopsuey" ang resume, categorize, organize!

UPLOAD YOUR RESUME

I always updated my resume online, not believing in it, but I did it anyways. Ganyan ako nakuha sa present work ko ngayon for abroad. I was not planning to go anytime soon, but lo and behold, after updating my resume and sending some to yahoo/googled results for "autocad operator" both local and foreign, i got call backs!

Some sites I have a resume on are http://www.jobstreet.com/ ata, the one in inquirer (http://www.inq7.net/) and http://www.jobs.com/ (or ph.)

BE STEADFAST ON GOING TO THE INTERNET CAFE/GOOGLING AT HOME

Since all my house destinations (kina ate, sa bahay, sa bahay sa Baguio) have net connections, at pag laptop eh merong wireless, palaging mag net para sure.

I started fooling around with "search for autocad operator jobs" or "autocad jobs" and everything that popped out na applicable sa akin, I sent out resumes. Out of the 20 I sent out, 15 called back. I got interviewed quite a few times, I got accepted quite a few times din. But the prospect of a new chapter in my life, which is working abroad, seemed the most promising. Kaya dito ako pumirma ng contract.

Sipag at Tiyaga, ika nga ni Mar Roxas (?)

Assuming na you have found a prospective employer, gone through the interview (better kung maraming interviews para may options) and got accepted, then congrats! Now you need to prepare the following documents early on para hindi na kayo ma windang kamukha ko!

-Certified True Copy of your Diploma and Transcript

(get it stamped and certified sa school where you graduated, maybe about 10 copies, if you have a couple of interviews lined up)

-Passport

(with at least 3 years validity left, xerox the front page, and the subsequent pages that have stamps on them)

-Birth Certificate

(just in case)

-Blue Ribbon from CHED

(get your Certified True Copy from school, go to the nearest ched office, ask how to get them "blue ribboned" for abroad. sa Baguio, from where I graduated, CHED is located in KM4 Trinidad, in front of the Petron/Shell Gasoline Station sa tapat ng bahay na ginawa namin nuong first job ko :)

(they were EXTREMELY HELPFUL sa akin, kasi I asked a lot of question. They were very ACCOMMODATING and INFORMATIVE)(shoutout to them! :)

(they will get this xeroxed stamped CTC and forward it to the Department of Foreign Affairs in Roxas Boulevard, Pasay City, which you can get after 10 working days or less)

-RESUME

-BLue Ribbon from the Embassy of the country you're going to

(from DFA, you can get the same document, and as for me, have it DHL-ed- to the UAE Embassy

that's about it, and other papers that you know of that can be important, like a marriage certificate, etc.

Remember:

*Do have extra xeroxed documents, pasobra kesa kulang!

*Do keep it in a file folder (got this from my well-organized ate) para handy

*Do bring the original papers, but in a separate file folder, and NEVER give them anything original unless nasa final steps na ng processing

*Do READ everything ESP. the fine print, on any document, before signing

*Dont be afraid to politely ask questions regarding stuff

*Do research on the company that hired you, mamya bogus pala, sayang naman

STEPS ON THE PROCESSING OF PAPERS FOR ABROAD

(after you have an employer of course!)

First, I got an employer by submitting my resume to a job posting on jobstreet or http://www.workabroad.ph/ ...

I found a great agency, CDK INTERNATIONAL and they were the one who posted the job.

Check the agency first (rambol-rambol na tong mga tina type ko, palibhasa wala pa akong tulog, its 5am already!)(Bear with me!)

You can check out the agency by loging on to the POEA website, look for the recruitment agencies there and type the name. If your chosen agency pops out, and has a good standing, like mine, well then, your good.

* I had an experience where I got interviewed for a similar job for Dubai by this agency. They have an impressive building, and a large sign with their POEA license on display. After the interview, I checked the agency on the POEA website, if their license is legal, and I was floored. Because not only that the agency wasn't listed, they had a fictitious license! hah! I never went back! They keep calling me, up until last week. I kept begging off for the final interview.

*Dont give any original documents, including your passport. Hindi Ganun ang process. You only give them the passport when they are processing your visa, after you have signed your contract

MEDICAL

My medical check-up was horrendous and funny! I got an appointment from the agency, ST.PETER-PAUL MEDICAL CLINIC in Ermita, near my agency.

Step 1: Bayad (money down biatch!) mine for Dubai was 2660

Step 2:Medical-BP,HT.WT. Anal, Breast, Puson check up (this was the horrendous part,as you are naked!)

Step 3: Piss and Poo-poo, and BLOOD

Step 4: Laboratory

Step 5: X-RAY

Step 6: OPTO (sa mata)

Step 7: Audio (sa pandinig)

Step 8: Dental-here they will fix your teeth woes for a price, much more less than that of the outside dentist, but if you have money to spare, i suggest you go to your dentist, as he/she know your teeth better!

Step 9: Psychological Exam

-Logic, drawing, about yourself, reasoning

-Mahirap for me yung logic, the others were pie.

*Do remember na magbaon ng pagkain, which I learned the hard way!
